14 Wing Greenwood is the largest air base on the East Coast. The Base was established as Royal Air Force Station and now is home to three operational Squadrons, 405 Long Range Patrol Squadron, 404 Longs Range Patrol and Training Squadron and 413 Transport and Rescue Squadron plus 14 Air Maintenance Squadron . Greenwood was chosen for the fog- free climate. 14 Wing Greenwood is situated on Federal owned land, adjacent to but outside the Village of Greenwood boundaries.
The Village of Greenwood enjoys a warm and cordial relationship with 14 Wing Greenwood and the men, women and children who make Greenwood home.

The Greenwood Military Aviation Museum traces the history of RAF/RCA/CFB Greenwood from its inception in 1942 to the present day. The museum is housed in its newly constructed quarters of over 8,000 square feet of display area.
